Conclusions about Mapiq and BeSense

All panel members thank you for giving your opinion on Mapiq and BeSense! 135 panel members participated in this study. These are students who study in The Hague.

Mapiq

On the locations Wijnhaven and Schouwburgstraat it is possible to book lecture halls to work or study with fellow students. Via the platform Mapiq you can see which lecture rooms are available and you can make a reservation yourself.

  • Mapiq

Sufficient study places are by far most important for studying at the university. Seeing the available study places is also important for a quarter of the students. For one in five students, the occupied spaces are a reason not to work with fellow students at the university.

70% is familiar with Mapiq, mainly via the information board at the entrance, through posters or through fellow students. Students use the platform primarily to check the availability of lecture halls and to book a lecture hall. They do this mainly in order to study in groups and to work on assignments in groups. The majority of the users are positive about Mapiq.

BeSense

On the location Wijnhaven there is a digital map called BeSense map, which indicates how many study places are still available. On the map the availability of study places are indicated with colors: occupied (red), free (green) or possibly free (orange). You can find this digital map next to the main entrance.

  • BeSense

Around 60% of the panel members are familiar with the digital map. In addition, two out of three students say BeSense is personally relevant for them. Students value the idea of BeSense, but opinions are clearly divided on the usefulness and necessity of the system. In addition, students question the accuracy of the information.
